Explore Ayutthaya Historic Park where you will visit Wat Mahathat
Taste some local food
Ayutthaya is a hidden archaeological gem, overflowing with Buddhist temples and crumbling but camera-friendly ruins. It is the old capital of Thailand and Ayutthaya has long been a popular Bangkok day-trip destination.
However, some travellers have said that one day is not enough time to explore this ancient kingdom. It is for this reason that we have designed this homestay experience where you can truly appreciate this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This expedition is part of the Community development fund to ensure that every travelers' spending goes to support local people and reducing rural-urban migration.
DAY1: Bangkok- Aytthaya (-/L/D)
The tour begins with an 8:30AM pick up from your hotel and then a 1.5-hour drive in a private van to the historic city of Ayutthaya. On the way we will stop off and visit Bang Pa-In Royal Palace. This is the summer palace of the Kings of Thailand. This palace is known for its unique architectural design as it has been influenced from China and European countries. Then we will enjoy lunch like a local. After lunch it is time to explore the most impressive ruined city in Asia. We will visit most of the temples around the Ayutthaya Historical Park. You will get to see Wat Mahathat which is famous for the Buddha head peeking out in-between giant tree roots- a well-recognized image in Thailand. Wandering through this once-thriving ancient city will make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Afterwards you will be led to your homestay in Ayutthaya where you can rest and relax by the canal side. Dinner will be served with your homestay hosts. Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay, bedding and mosquito net are provided.
DAY2: Ayutthaya – Bangkok (B/-/-)
Breakfast will be served on board a boat along the canal. You will be able to see a traditional Thai house and how the local people live along the canal. Then we will head back to the homestay where you will pack your belongings and say goodbye to your hosts. Drive back to Bangkok where you will arrive at your hotel around 12:00PM.
