Y.Farmily: A Nature Positive Journey Through Organic Farming

When travel helps you see the hidden connections between farming, biodiversity, and the future of our planet.

Some of the most meaningful journeys aren't about discovering somewhere new. They're about reconnecting with people who continue to inspire you.

During a familiarization trip organized by the Thai Organic ConsumerAssociation (TOCA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Fine and I, as the Co-Founder and Founder of SiamRise Travel, had the opportunity to visit Y.Farmily once again. It was especially meaningful because we were reunited with Ake, a long-time friend and the second-generation owner of the organic coconut farm.

Ake, second-generation owner of Y.Farmily, sharing his passion for biodiversity, organic farming, and nature-positive tourism in Thailand.

Over the years, we've watched Ake grow Y.Farmily into more than just an organic farm. His vision has evolved into something bigger, a place where sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, and meaningful visitor experiences come together to demonstrate what nature positive tourism can truly looklike.

Beyond Organic Farming: A Nature Positive Mindset

For Ake, growing organic coconuts is only the beginning. What truly drives him is protecting the delicate balance of nature. Hebelieves that a healthy farm depends on a healthy ecosystem, where every living creature from worms beneath the soil to butterflies fluttering through the coconut trees plays an important role.
Listening to Ake share his passion reminded us that sustainability isn't simply about avoiding chemicals or increasing yields. It's about understanding the interconnected relationships that allow people and nature to thrive together.

Learning Through Nature

A visit to Y.Farmily is a journey of discovery. Guided by local experts, visitors explore the coconut plantation while learning about the fascinating life cycles of butterflies, worms, and other beneficial species that contribute to biodiversity.

One of the highlights is the butterfly observation activity, where guests gently catch butterflies to learn about their role in the ecosystem before releasing them safely back into nature.

The experience continues from farm to table, showcasing how organically grown coconuts become refreshing coconut drinks, traditional coconut sugar, handcrafted desserts. Every step celebrates sustainable food systems, local craftsmanship, and the value of preserving agricultural wisdom for future generations.
