      4 Days | Sukhothai | North

      UNFOLD SUKHOTHAI

      Sukhothai is known for its historical side. You will be amazed by the remains, temples and sculptures.

      It was the first capital city of Siam Kingdom in XIII century. Nowadays, the city owns multiple UNESCO heritage and are still used in religious ceremonies by the local population.

      This 4 day-trip in Sukhothai is the occasion to discover the first capital of Thailand through local people, workshops, landscapes and Thai cuisine.

    • 🍀SOCIAL IMPACT:

      This expedition supports local people, Sukhothai old town, Sawankhalok and Si Satchanalai.

      🍀ITINERARY:

      • DAY1: Sukhothai Arrival (-/-/D)

      We will pick you up a Sukhothai bus station or Sukhothai airport, to drop you at your hotel in Sukhothai.

      You will have some free time until night, where a welcome dinner will be served at a local restaurant for you.

      After this, we will go back at the hotel/resort in Sukhothai.

       

      • DAY2: Sukhothai cycling - Amulet making (B/L/-)

      In the morning, we will do a meet&greet at your hotel before checkout. Then, we will go to our morning cycling tour by local transportation. Note that your luggage will be transferred to your next hotel.

      During your biking tour, you will discover special and hidden paths of Sukhothai local communities. The landscape is a succession of green fields and small houses. After this, we will visit a local bamboo weaving house to see a weaving demonstration. Then, we will go to a teak wood factory, a community enterprise, followed by a local rice whiskey tasting session.

       

      For the lunch, you will eat at a local Thai restaurant.

       

      In the afternoon, we will drop you at your hotel for taking some rest. Also, we can arrange you an optional Thai massage for those willing to experience it. At 3:00pm, you will participate in a workshop with local artisans, experts in traditional amulet making and Buddhism knowledge.

      Afterward, we will explore Sukhothai Historical park, a UNESCO World Heritage site and, finish the day by admiring the sunset at Saritphong Dam.

       

      For the evening, we will drop you at your hotel to have dinner and have a relaxing night here.

       

      • DAY3: Sukhothai - Sawankhalok - Si Satchanalai (B/L/D)

      In the morning, you will have your breakfast at the hotel before checkout. Then, we will go to Sawankhalok and Si Satchanalai area for the activities.

       

      We will meet with a local writer to teach you about Sawankhalok town's history. Then, we will do a 1-hour walking tour from Sawankhalok railway station to the former police station. You will have the chance to obtain historical knowledge on this city through your guide explanation. Afterward, we will take a short drive to Rong Na Ban Rai. There, you will do some kite making, cooking and, make Kao Tom Mud, a traditional Thai sweet known as a sticky rice in banana leaf. You will also cook Sawankhalok Noodles and eat it for your lunch.

       

      In the afternoon, we will drive to Si Satchanalai where we will stay at a homestay for the night. We will visit a local family making Traditional Thai dance costume and making small pieces of the Royal Costume.

       

      After this, we will check-in at the homestay and learn about Kraung Bai Sri, a traditional cultural object made from banana.

      In the evening, your host will give you a welcome ceremony and share a dinner with you, before letting you enjoy your room.

       

      • DAY4: Sukhothai Departure (B/L/-)

      In the early morning, you will witness how local people give alms to the Buddhist monks. After this, we will return to your homestay for the breakfast and then pack your belonging before saying goodbye toy our host family.

       

      The last visit of this trip will be Srisatchanalai Historical Park before heading to Sukhothai airport/Chiang Mai.

      On the road, you will take your lunch at a local Thai restaurant.

      After this, we will drop you off at your hotel in Chiang Mai or Sukhothai airport.

      • Approximately 1 hour flight from Bangkok (BKK) to Sukhothai (THS). 3 flights a day by Bangkok Airways.

      • Overnight train from Bangkok Railway Station to Phitsanulok Station by State Railway of Thailand, then another 1-hour drive to Sukhothai.
