Kanchanaburi Province is famous for its remaining of the history of Thailand during World War II. There is the Death Railway Bridge where foreign prisoners (Americans, British and Dutch) were forced to build this bridge at the cost of their life.
This 3 days trip allows you to discover another face of this region. Around educational activities such as cooking, learning and interaction with the nature, your children will come back with more knowledge about Thailand.
This expedition supports local villages and the Environmental Conservation Organization which takes care of domestic elephants.
DAY1: Kanchanaburi Arrival (-/L/-)
We pick you up from Bangkok airport or at your hotel at 9:00 am. We will head you to Kanchanaburi province for a 3-hours drive by a private air-conditioned vehicle.
You will visit the village in a farmer truck. See the rice fields, palm groves and cook a local Thai dessert called Kha Nom Tan, a steamed palm cake. The truck will drive you to a traditional farmer's fabrics called Pa Khao Ma, where you will participate in a weaving demonstration. This fabric is renowned in Thailand.
For your lunch, you will eat at a local restaurant located in the village.
In the late afternoon, we will take you to your hotel.
For those staying at the hotel in town :
In the evening, you local guide will take you to River Kway Bridge. You will experience a boat ride on the river while enjoying the sunset. After this, you will go back to your hotel.
DAY2: Kanchanaburi (-/L/-)
In the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel and lead you to the Elephant World Foundation. Here, you will be a volunteer where you will learn about elephant's behavior, walk next to them and cook them some food. This foundation is known for providing safe experience for the volunteer and the elephants (no riding, respect of elephants boundaries, etc).
For your lunch, you will eat at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will drive you to Sai Yok district to experience hot spring pool after a short ride on a boat. You will have the choice between different Thai herbal essences and hot spring pools.
In the evening, we will drive you back to your hotel.
DAY3: Kanchanaburi Departure (-/L/-)
In the morning, we will take you to the Erawan National Park. You will be amazed by these emerald waterfalls, natural swimming pool and small jungle trails, well-known across Thailand.
For your lunch, you will eat in a local restaurant, before heading back in Bangkok.
On the road, you will visit Tham Suea Temple which owns an impressive Buddha statue. There, you will see a chedi on the top of a hill with a viewpoint of Kanchanaburi town.
To finish, we will drive you back directly at your hotel in Bangkok.
