TOGETHER, IMPACT, and GROWTH: SiamRise Travel Annual Outing at Koh Sichang

Traveling with Purpose, Growing Together as a Team

May 23, 2026

At SiamRise Travel, sustainability is not only something we design for travelers. It is also part of how we build our team culture, care for people, and grow together as an organization.

This year’s annual outing was more than just a company trip. It was a meaningful moment to welcome new team members, celebrate contributions, and reflect on the impact we create together through responsible travel.

Our journey brought us to the peaceful island of Ko Sichang for a 2-night retreat filled with sustainability practices, local support, environmental action, and quality time as a team.

This special trip was also an opportunity to warmly welcome two new members of the SiamRise family:

  • Mee — Data & Impact Analytics Intern
  • Muse — Impact & Administration Executive

At the same time, it was a heartfelt farewell trip for two interns who completed meaningful chapters with SiamRise Travel after contributing inspiring work to our mission throughout the year:

  • Rim — Sustainability Coordinator Intern
  • Mint — Responsible Tour Operation Intern

As a people-centered organization, we believe that strong impact begins with strong people. Creating moments for connection, appreciation, and shared experiences is an important part of building a purpose-driven workplace culture.

For this outing, we intentionally selected locally owned accommodation instead of mainstream tourism businesses. We stayed at Happy Home Koh Sichang, a charming island accommodation operated with a strong responsible travel concept that aligns closely with our values.

What inspired us most was their creative sustainability campaign for travelers:

  • 50% discount for guests who bring and use:
    • Reusable tumblers
    • Food containers
    • Reusable bags
  • Encouraging visitors to support local shops instead of large convenience store chains
  • Offering seaside Thai massage experiences where 100 THB from every 500 THB session is donated to the Thai Autistic Foundation

These simple but meaningful initiatives demonstrate how tourism businesses can encourage travelers to reduce single-use plastic, support local communities, and create positive social impact at the same time.

Supporting a Global Movement Against Plastic Waste

As part of our commitment to responsible travel and environmental stewardship, our team joined a cleanup activity organized by Trash Hero Ko Sichang.

Trash Hero is a global volunteer movement that brings communities and travelers together to reduce plastic waste through cleanups, education, and long-term sustainable behavior change. Beyond collecting waste, the organization encourages people to rethink single-use plastic consumption and become part of a more sustainable future.

For SiamRise Travel, this activity reflected our belief that tourism should contribute positively to destinations, not only economically, but also environmentally and socially.

Taking Action with Trash Hero Koh Sichang. During the trip, our team also joined Trash Hero Thailand for a beach cleaning activity on the island as part of our impactful CSR experience.

Together, we collected:

  • Plastic bottles: 4.5 kg
  • General waste: 32 kg
  • Glass waste: 8.5 kg
  • Plastic straws: 164 pieces
  • Bottle caps: 74 pieces
  • Plastic spoons and forks: 14 pieces

This activity reminded us that small collective actions can create meaningful environmental impact. It also reflected the growing importance of reducing single-use plastic consumption in tourism destinations.

For us, responsible travel is not only about visiting beautiful places. It is about helping protect them for future generations.

More Than an Outing, A Reflection of Our Organizational Culture

Beyond sustainability activities, this trip was also about slowing down, appreciating one another, and thanking our team for their dedication and hard work throughout the year.

As a social-impact-driven travel company, we believe organizational sustainability starts with people. Supporting wellbeing, creating meaningful experiences together, and fostering a sense of belonging are essential for long-term impact.

This outing became a reminder that growth is not only measured by business success, but also by the relationships, shared purpose, and positive impact we create together.

Traveling with Impact, Growing Together

At SiamRise Travel, we continue to believe that tourism can be a force for good, for local communities, for the environment, and for the people behind the work.

And to Rim and Mint, thank you for being part of our journey. We wish you both all the best in your next chapters.

Here’s to continuing to travel with purpose, create impact together, and grow together as a team.
