Thailand’s fifth largest province by area, Ubon Ratchathani or local call it shorten as UBON, lengthed south to the watershed that forms the Cambodia border, and east to the Mekong River and Laos, making it part of the so-called “Emerald Triangle”. Covered mostly in rice paddies that appears lush green during the rainy season and straw yellow for the rest of the year, the province’s wide-open spaces are best explored around trip in this huge. Here's the itinerary that you can expose wide-range of UBON.

 Activities and Experiences:

DAY1: UBON Arrival (L,D)

Upon arrival at Ubon’s airport/bus terminal/ train station (arrival time # to be advised), your local guide will pick you up and refresh yourself at the cafe/ local restaurant to grab some coffee and snack to start your beautiful day.

We drive 40 minutes to Wat Si Nuan Saeng Sawang Arom, the hidden gems temple to see the fine art decorations. Then we move to the Silk making village. 

Lunch with a delicious folk menu at the village/local restaurant.

Enjoy hands-on experience; traditional Silk making. Learn how to make silk thread and watch the demonstration of the production process from the beginning to the silk (Mudmee dyed woven). Get a try of the special local menu! Tasty cocoons the taste of nature. The end of the day enjoys shopping for local products from the community of Ban Nong Bo.

Back to hotel for checking in and rest at your leisure.

Dinner with a local restaurant.

Overnight at Hotel in Ubon Ratchathani.

DAY2: Ubon - Sasom Homestay (B,L,D)

Breakfast will be served at the hotel.

Then prepare to depart to the rural village by minivan for 2 hours drive. Ban Sasom village is located in the Pha Taem National Park. Ban Sasom is registered standard homestay by Tourism Department with basic and standard facilities.

Meet your local home host and check in and have lunch at your homestay. 

After lunch, it's time for the cultural experiences, you will be led to walk

or bike in the village to see the way of locals living and wisdom. Hands-on experience in natural dyeing workshop from plant sources, bloom making, herbal forest exploring.

At your leisure till dinner served at the homestay.

Overnight at Sasom Homestay.

DAY3: Pha Taem National Park Trail & Tented Camp (B,L,D)

Get up early in the morning to see the vibe of faith in the village. You will experience to do alms offering to the monk in front of your homestay. Then prepare yourself to start the trail of locals by local tractor and walks to discover the natural sculptures. 

Breakfast will be served along the trail.

Late morning back to homestay and rest till lunch will be served.

Around 14.30PM, the villager guide will pick you up from homestay to move to tented camp at the peak of Pha Chanadai in the national park by 4x4 truck (2 hours) or local tractor (more fun with 3 hours). Along the way, we will stop some of the viewpoints to see how the reach of nature they are. 

The villagers will set tented camp for you and dinner will be served at the camp.

Overnight at tented camp. 

DAY4: First Sunrise of Thailand (B,L)

Wake up around 05.30AM and walk to the viewpoint of the peak. We will wait to see the first sunrise before anyone in Thailand with the Mekong river and hills view. 

Breakfast will be served at tented camp and we will back down to the village again. 

We will check out and say goodbye to your home host. Then we depart to Khemmarat. 

Lunch at a local restaurant. 

Arrive at Khemmarat and check in at the Riverside resort.

At your leisure on the rest of the day.

DAY5: Mekong Folk Life (B,L)

Breakfast will be served at the resort.

We will take you to the village where they have the home factory to make clothes from cotton. At here you can learn how they do weaving process by process from folk wisdom. Then continue to the rural street to another village.

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.

Arrive at Ban Lat Charoen, during the dry season. We will take a boat trip to see apart of Grand Canyon of Thailand, will emerge from the water and become an amazing natural wonder in the middle of the Mekong River. During the raining season, we can have a roasted tea workshop with local people instead.

At your leisure on the rest of the day.

DAY6: Ubon Departure (B)

Breakfast at resort.

Late in the morning, check-out and you will be lead to the airport/ bus terminal/ train station/ Thai-Laos border in Ubon Ratchathani. 

NOTE: All activities could be changed and flexible depend on the weather and the village’s situation without notice prior to arrival date.

This program will be a part that could be generated community development fund of Ban Sasom Homestay and Khemmarat Community Based Tourism Team to ensure that every traveler’s spending goes to support local people and reducing rural-urban migration.
