A CYCLING DAY AT TERRACOTTA ISLAND, KO KRET
Koh Kret is an island in the middle of the Chao Phraya River to the north of Bangkok. It is a famous settlement of Thais who are descendants of the Mon people. Throughout the years, the Koh Kret island has successfully upheld its ancient cultural charms and traditional character of their ancestors. Nowadays, Ko Kret is known for its rural atmosphere and its busy weekend market. This is a good chance to explore Ko Kret during out of the crowded on weekend.
In the morning, you will be collected by your guide at the hotel by van. Then we will leave Bangkok to Nonthaburi province for around 1 hour.
You will experience a local ferry cross to Ko Kret island and travel around by bicycle. To explore more local activities such as pottery workshop with the local artisan, biking a round of the greenery island to see the local way of life. And yes, there is the tasty snacks and lunch included at the local restaurant.
Return to the hotel in the afternoon by the private vehicle.

- Mon Temple, the landmark of an island:
The Buddhist temple has a Mon-style marble Buddha statue and a museum with religious objects and exhibits on local pottery. The most famous landmark is undoubtedly the 200-year-old leaning stupa that juts out from the island’s northeastern corner.
- Pottery Workshop House with local artisan
You will see many kilns as you walk around, you will not only watch the remarkable potter at work, carving the intricate designs but also do your own handicraft and bring it back as the souvenir.
- Biking on the greenery car-free island experience
It takes around 45 minutes to make a full circuit of the island by bicycles. You will reach a beautiful oasis on the edge of Bangkok with the singularity that it is completely car-free. This beautiful place is the island of Koh Kret.
- Local snack tasting
During bicycle riding, stop at the Muslim community and Mon community on the island. You will try 2 different kinds of local snack by the river.
This program is supporting Ko Kret community to create awareness of the community for travel. The community has the cultures potential with the local wisdom of pottery to attract travelers rather than the famous weekend market.
