 THONBURI OLD PATH

Thonburi is the part of Bangkok located on the west side of Chaophraya River. It is one of the oldest areas in Bangkok where you can see the various people and cultures like Thai, Chinese and Muslim. Moreover, it is famous for the yummy food that you should come to experience it for once time!

In the morning, the guide will meet you at subway MRT Blue Line, Itsaraphap Station, exit 1 on street level. Then your guide will lead you to visit the first stop is the king Taksin shrine where the first shrine of Thailand that created to commemorate the king Taksin who is the only one king of Thonburi era. After that, we will walk through Kudeekhao community where you can see Thai temple is Wat Hong Rattanaram, the old temple that was built in Ayutthaya period and you can also see Ton Son mosque where the oldest mosque in Bangkok!

Next, we will continue to walk to Wat Kanlayanamit, it is one of the oldest temples in Thonburi that was built at the beginning of the Rattanakosin era. You can see the beauty of Thai-Chinese architecture and the biggest Buddha image in Thailand is here!

Afterwards, we will visit Kian Un Keng shrine, the Chinese Hokkien shrine that located at the side of Chao Phraya river. You can see the brilliant architecture as Hokkien style that decorated by the wood-carving which is the unique style of Hokkien art.

And then, we will walk to visit Kudee Jeen community, the only Portuguese community in Bangkok. Here you can see the beautiful church which the architecture as neoclassic and renaissance style. After that, we will take a break and drink some coffee or soft drink at Kudee Jeen museum, the museum where show the history of Portuguese in Thailand.

Afterwards, we will go to visit Wat Prayurawong Sawat Worawihan, known in short as Wat Prayun. The temple was built during the reign of King Rama III of Rattanakosin Kingdom. You can see the grandeur of white stupa that inside contains the buddha’s relic and this stupa receives UNESCO Cultural Heritage Conservation Award of Excellence in 2013 as well.

Then, we will drop you off at Subway MRT Blue Line, Sanam Chai Station by noon - 1 P.M.
