 PASTEL MORNING VILLAGE HOMESTAY

Phatthalung is an ancient province in the south of Thailand. It is the home of Talay Noi nature reserve. This beautiful reserve is known for its large lake with many local plants as well as migratory and indigenous birds. People can enjoy spotting them and soak in one of the best sunrises in Thailand.

Phatthalung also produces a unique kind of rice in Thailand called SUNGYOD RICE. This rice recently won the right to a Geographical Indication (GI) certification from the European Union.

Spend some time exploring the area and also learning about the southern Thai farmer with the Pastel Morning Village Homestay.

 Itinerary:

DAY1: Phatthalung Arrival (-, L,D)

The Phatthalung Province is located in southern Thailand and to get there you can catch a flight from the Hat Yai international airport, where you will be picked up.

Our first stop is to meet with the local people. They will introduce you to the community and teach you about the rice plantation process.

Then you will check in at your homestay.

You will then change into some farmer clothes to begin learning about the ways of the southern Thailand farmer.

Lunch will be served at the community centre.

After lunch, you will spend some time with and learn from a local farmer. The activities that you will do with them will depend on the time of year.

There will then be a dessert-making workshop where you will make a traditional dish.

Dinner will be served at your homestay.

Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay, bedding and mosquito net are provided.

DAY2: Beautiful Sunrise in the Wetland (B,L,-)

Today is an early start so you will be able to experience the beautiful sunrise at Klong Pak Pra. There will also be a boat ride over Talay Noi, which is a large lake. Here, you will be able to enjoy spotting the local plants and also the interesting bird life.

Breakfast will be served at the homestay.

After breakfast you will pack and check out of your homestay.

Then you will visit a local temple.

Lunch will be served at the community centre.

You will then be dropped off at Hat Yai international airport.

Note: All mentioned activities are subject to change depending on the weather, availability and safety reasons. This can occur without notice prior to the date.

 Be Responsible:

This program will be a part that could be generated community development fund at Ban Tha Chang and Ban Chai Buri Homestay to ensure that every travelers' spending goes to support local people and reducing rural-urban migration.

 How to get to Phatthalung:

  • 27+ flights per day, Bangkok (all airports) to Hat Yai (HDY), plus another 1.5 hours drive

 Connected Destinations:

  • Trang: 2 hours drive from Phatthalung

  • Ko Lipe: 2 hours drive from Phatthalung (plus 1.45 hours ferry)
