THE HARMONY OF PHUTAI VILLAGE HOMESTAY
The provincial capital of Mukdahan has recently grown into one of the largest Mekong River towns in Isan area. Located directly across from Savannakhet in Laos, this bustling city draws many Lao citizens who pop over to take advantage of modern shopping centres and sprawling markets.
To experience this area in a different way, why not try a homestay? There is a village hidden away from the city called BAN NA SOK where the Phu Tais are settled with a simple lifestyle.

DAY1: Mukdahan Arrival (-,L/D)
We will meet you at the airport drop off point.
Along the way to BAN NA SOK you will visit Wat Pho Kaew Temple. Here you can learn about the Phu Tai ethics according to Buddhism.
Lunch will be served.
After lunch you will go on a village walk to see the local way of life. On this walk you will get to observe traditional weaving, farming, basketry and also listen to some traditional folk music.
Check in at the homestay.
Dinner will be served.
Overnight: Simple and comfortable homestay, bedding and mosquito net are provided.
DAY2: Mukdahan Departure (B,L,-)
In the morning you will dress up in traditional clothing and then give alms to the monks.
Breakfast will be served at your homestay.
You will then go on a 3-hour nature trail to Mount Phu Hin Siw. Here you can learn about how the Phu Tai people’s lives relate to the forest.
Lunch will be served at your homestay before you checkout.

This program will be a part that could be generated community development fund at Na Sok Homestay to ensure that every travelers' spending goes to support local people and reducing rural-urban migration.

How to get to Mukdahan:
- 4 flights per day from Bangkok (DMK) to Nakhon Phanom (KOP)
- Plus 2 hours with a convenient connection by coach to Mukdahan.
Savannakhet, Laos: 1-hour drive cross-border. This is the shortest route to get to Hue, Vietnam from Thailand.
