Educational Travel with UNDP: Field Trip with Impact in Thailand

How we design the experience of climate education, SDG-focused learning, and responsible educational travel in Thailand

February 3, 2026

Educational travel creates the greatest value when experiences are intentionally designed around academic goals, real-world relevance, and responsible travel principles. At SiamRise Travel, we design educational journeys by starting with one key question:

What do your students need to learn and how can real places, people, and experiences bring that learning to life?

As a Responsible Travel DMC and Social Enterprise in Thailand, we specialize in customized educational field trips aligned with institutional objectives, course curricula, and global themes—while creating positive impact for local communities and the environment. This case study from our collaboration with UNDP’s Climate Box initiative demonstrates how we translate learning goals into meaningful, real-world experiences.

From Objectives to Experiential Learning

In December 2025, SiamRise Travel partnered with Neat Event and Consultant and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) to design and deliver an educational field trip for the International Educators’ Conference and Youth Festival in Khao Yai, Thailand. The program brought together educators and officials from 11 countries, united by a shared mission: advancing climate education, SDGs, and climate action. By closely understanding the conference objectives, participant profiles, and learning outcomes, we co-created a field-based learning journey that combined academic depth, cultural insight, and environmental responsibility.

How Learning Came to Life

Participants explored renewable energy and carbon neutrality at the EGAT Climate Change Learning Center, turning climate theory into practical understanding. They connected culture and sustainability through visits to a local temple and community near Khao Yai, learning how local wisdom shapes environmental stewardship.

In Khao Yai National Park, nature became the classroom, where guided walks introduced forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation—through low-impact, responsible travel practices.

Responsible Travel, Real Impact

Sustainability was embedded throughout the journey. By working with local transport providers and supporting community vendors around Wat Phra Khao, the program contributed directly to local livelihoods. Operational choices such as label-less bottled water helped reduce plastic waste and improve recycling. Every detail was designed to ensure low-impact travel, positive community engagement, and meaningful learning.

Seamless, Student-Centered Delivery

SiamRise Travel managed the program end to end covering safety, logistics, academic pacing, and on-ground facilitation allowing educators and organizers to focus fully on learning outcomes and exchange.
